Akcent is one of the most successful boy-bands in Romania and also in Europe. The lead singer Adrian Sana started the band in 2001 when Sorin and Mihai joined him.
Their first single came out the same year Ti-am promis/ I promised you. This was the first national success. In January of 2002 the album In culori- Colours was released. It went gold and platinum, just weeks after the release.
This album made Akcent the most popular band in Romania, awarded by Bravo Magazine with the title “Bravo Band of 2002”
The next album in 2003 is called 100 Bpm- a love album with a dance vibe. 100 Bpm (beats per minute) is the heart rate during a passionate kiss. Both singles released Buchet de trandafiri/ Buquet of roses and Suflet pereche/ Soul mate made the top 10 in Romania.
From 2004 to 2009, seven albums followed, but it was the 2006 album First chapter that opened the gates to the international music scene. The song Kylie (the englesh version of Dragoste de inchiriat) was a big hit in countries like: Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey, Greece, France, Sweden, Netherlands, Egypt, Canada, Brazil, and US. The complete international album French kiss with Kylie included the songs Jokero and French kiss.
In 2008 Akcent was once again in the eye of the international public with the album Fara lacrimi - No tears. The songs Lovers cry, Stay with me and That’s my name are very popular in the European clubs and radio stations. The band was so successful that in 2009 they released a polish version of the album No tears.
In 2010 the first single released was Make me shiver. And from this first song the tone for the next singles Love stoned, Spanish Lover and My Passion. The change of style ment sexier lyrics and sound, a real spoil for the ladies. Akcent won Best Group Award at the Balkan Awards. Te album was named after the single Love stoned. The video for the song was shot in Africa. For the song Spanish Lover, Adi Sana worked with the well-known rapper Dollarman. The song was released in 19 countries including Holland, Turkey and even India.
After the release of the single My Passion, Akkent went on a world tour including countries like Quatar, Arab Emirates, Morocco, Poland, Greece and many more. The video for the single was posted on youtube.com where it had over 10 million hits. It was also no. 1on Europa Plus - the biggest Russian radio station, covering Europe and Asia.
2010 came with a new single, Feelings on fire, that features a fresh voice - Ruxandra. Since release the song is very popular on radio stations and on the internet. Fans are eager for a video.
