Alex Velea discovered his passion for music at the age of 6, started singing at age 11 and at age 16 he started studying classic canto. His ambition got him in the recording studio at only 21 years old.
His first album Yamasha came out in 2006. Alex Velea is a music chamelon, his style is a unique blend as it combines dance rithms with hip-hop, raggae and latino sounds. The album Yamasha is a story that describes the artist.
After the single Yamasha two more songs from the album were released Dragoste la prima vedere/ Love at first sight and Doamna mea/ My lady. The album was a huge success went gold that same year and Yamasha was the song of the summer in 2006. Alex left the MTV awards in 2006 with 3 awards: best show, best male, best new act.
He featured on the albums of the most important singers in Romania and his second album - Secret came out in 2010. The first single Secret Discret/ Discreet secret earned Alex the Best Pop award at the Romanian Music Awards.
From the same album two more songs were released Doar ea/ Just her and Don’t say it’s over. The same great mixture of sounds that keep you dancing till dawn.
This year Alex surprised his fans with a fresh new song One shot. Beautiful video, great sound, original style. All the ingredients that turn a song into a hit. The song is on the “most wanted on radio” list since the first week of release.
