Music was a big part of Andreea’s life ever since she was 4 years old. She studied piano for 2 years and canto 4 years. By the time she was 20 years old she was part of the girl band called “Exotic” and competed in the “ Mamaia festival”. Two years later, the “Exotic” band fell apart and Andreea started a fresh new project with Cristina Rus- the band “Blondy”. The band had 3 very successful pop-dance albums. The song Numele tau/ Your name was a big hit in Romania and in 2003 the girls won Best dance band award from radio Romania. The next year Andreea begins her solo career.
The first song she released as a solo artist is called Dansez, dansez- Dancing. The song was number one in the Romanian charts. From her solo album she released two more songs Indragostiti/ Lovers and Dulce si amar/ Bitter sweet. The album won the Gold disk in 2004.
The song that placed Andreea in the best selling singers category is Fiesta from the album Rendez- vous. The song was number one in the music charts the first week of release, and Andreea won the MTV Best solo artist award. From the same album the second release was the song that named the album Rendez- vous, most played songs in the summer of 2007. This was the first album signed as “Andreea Banica”.
The same year she was nominated Best Romanian Act at the EMA (European music awards) in 2006 and 2007, but in 2007 she went home with the MTV trophee. After concerting in most European countries and even Dubai, Andreea returns in the studio for a new album. In 2008 the first song released was Incredere/ Trust, a sensitive love song with a great video. The Hooky Song is a fresh dance song with latino accents, and it featured the artist “Smiley”.
After the success of the Hooky song Andreea surprised her fans with a new approach to her music- dance rythm with powerful latino influences- Le ri la song was an instant hit and Andreea won two Romanian Music Awards. The song Samba in colaboration with Dony, won Best video award at the RMA, and it was the most played song in Bulgaria for the year 2010.
In 2011 the “Best of” album is released and Andreea is the happy winner of yet another award: Love in Brasil Best dance song at the RMA. In may she released a fresh video for the song Sexy, that is Most wanted song on radio Zu.
The music of Andreea Banica is always original, and with each new album she never stops surprising her fans. As a singer - she is in love with her job and this translates into the best quality when it comes to performing. Famous in most European countries for her amazing voice and beautiful look, Andreea is a complete performer.
