What is Deepside? Deepside is Vibearena, Victor de la Pena and Dave Price- together they are one of the best house bands in Romania.The boys strong history with music was the key ingredient in creating hits.
Vibearena was a professional tennis player as a teenager but he spent his nights playing music for different clubs. He made the first steps towards a musical career in 1996 when he started a Hip - Hop band. In 2003 he left the band and started working in his own studio on a number of projects.
Victor de la Pena, started playing the accordion at the age of 5. One year later he could replicate any song he heard. The same year he started piano studies that would last for 18 years. Having a big interest in the evolution of music he started exploring electronic music and with all his experience he could integrate new elements of sound.
Dave Price was also a child of music, started playing the accordion at age 4, continued with piano and clarinet and at age 14 started a popular rock band called “Teen spirit”. In the year 2000 Dave came to Bucharest to continue his studies at the National Music Academy. In his freshman year he begun working at a recording studio producing songs for many romanian artists.The songs became national hits and, some, like Geo Da Silva’s Do it like a truck became international hits.
As producers, Deepside Deejays are responsible for over 50 remixes and 20 songs.
In 2008 they start producing their own songs, performing also as a band. The debut single Beautiful days was an international success, number 1 in Poland, Maroco, India, Greece, Cyprus, Romania and Malta. Top 10 in Sweden, Norway and Scandinavia, top 20 in France and Germany. In 2009 Deepside Deejays are 3 times nominated for the Romanian Music Awards and winners of Best DJ award.
In 2010 the awards keep coming : Best featuring award at the RMA for the song Turning featuring Alex and Grasu XXL, and Best Dance Music Project at Nights.ro awards.
The same year Deepside Deejays become the image of MUZ TV Campaigne in Russia.
The next single Never be alone released in the spring of 2011 reached the top 10 in Russia Turkey and Greece. In Romania is in Most Wanted on Radio Zu and no.1 in the Romanian music charts.
Always present at music competitions some of the most remarkable awards are:
- Winners of the GFAB Records competition with the remix for “Get shaky “ - Ian Carey
- Winners of Everywhere Remix Competition organised by John Dahlback
- Winners of FOEM Competition in association with Martin Solveig
The remix of Alex Velea’s song Don’t say it’s over is currently on DJ Tiesto’s playlist for live shows and also on the radio show “Elements of life”.
Never be alone had a huge impact on the Romanian music scene. Since release in april 2011 it has been on heavy rotation on radio stations and tv, and already recognized by the audience as this summers hit.
