David Deejay was born on december 10th 1980. He studied violin most of his childhood and teenage years. He then realised that this wasn’t his dream and started mixing song on his computer.
Moving to Bucharest opened a brand new scene for the young DJ. He started working at MOF record label producing songs for bands like Akcent, TNT, HI-Q and 3SE. His passion for music was present in all areas of his life. He spent his free time as a DJ, studying what type of songs people react to, what made them dance and what made a great song.
This experience helped him produce his first hit single Sexy thing featuring Dony. The song was no. 1 in Romanian top 100, no. 5 in the 2008 general chart. The song was top 40 in The Netherlands and Bulgaria. At the Romanian Music Awards, Sexy thing was nominated 4 times and won two trophies: Best dance and Best DJ.
The second single Nasty dream a dance song for clubs, was nominated 4 times at the 2009 RMA and won “Best new sound creator award”. He was also nominated “Best Romanian Act” at MTV European Music Awards. David created and is promoting a special music genre Popcorn. this is an unique blend of house, dance and pop sounds.
David deejay is the only artist in Romania releasing two new singles the same day: So Bizzare and I can Feel featuring Ella Rose. So Bizzare was nominated Best Dance at the RMA in 2010. The same year David Deejay went home with the awards for Best DJ and Best Producing Act for the song Temptation featuring Donny. He is one of Romania’s best club DJ, and music producers. His style is a mixture of pop, house, dance and even oriental rythms.
