Genre: DanceMihai Traistariu was born in Piatra Neamt on 16th of December 1979; at present, Mihai lives in Constanta. He graduated from the IT School, Iasi University, but he has been attracted to music even since he was little. He started studying piano at the age of 7, precisely when he started school, when his parents gave him a piano as a present. Throughout the years, he won 18 trophies at international festivals, and in 1998 he won second prize at the Song Contest - Mamaia Festival. In 1999, he joined the band "Valahia" but in 2000 decided to go solo. His first hit was "La mare, la soare" in 2001. Mihai became 4th in the Eurovision songfestival 2006.

Studied the piano for 10 years with a private tutor (starting when he was 7);
Graduated from Petru Rares high school, majoring in maths and physics;
Graduated the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics;
Took acting classes;
Attended vocal classes;
Came second in his first national contest, the Florentin Delmar Festival;
In two years, he won 18 prizes at various national festivals, winning first prize seven times;
Participated in the Mamaia Festival six times and came first twice, second twice and third twice;
Participated in the Golden Stag International Festival twice, winning the jury’s special award and the the people’s choice award;
Nominated for ‘best voice’ five times, winning three times;
Won the trophy at the Love Song Festival;
Won many international trophies in FYR Macedonia, Serbia & Montenegro, Bulgaria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Lavia and Belarus;
Took part in the Romanian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest on six occasions, finishing second, third, fourth, third, third and, in 2006, first;
Was spotted at the 1998 Mamaia Festival and was invited to become a member of the band Valahia;
Became a vocal music teacher in 2005 at the first talent school in Romania, STARSCOOL;
Nominated in the categories of ‘Most Beloved Solo Artist’ and ‘Hit of the Year’ at the 2006 ‘Most Beloved Romanians’ Awards;
Has toured all over Romania, Europe (Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Moldova) and Japan;
Has released seven albums (with Valahia and as a solo artist) and is now working on the eighth;
His voice can reach five octaves and one third, which is rare for a male voice.
